About Myers Elementary School
Myers Elementary School is located at 7609 Montgomery Avenue, a close walk from the Elkins Park and Melrose Park train stations. Myers reopened its doors as a fully renovated building in September 2009. The Peace Train, the school’s mascot, signifies that Myers Elementary students are both kind and driven. Myers faculty and staff are committed to reinforcing the concepts of teamwork and excellence throughout all aspects of curricula, instruction and school culture. In addition to the strong instructional program, students enjoy the expertise of special area teachers in art, music, physical education, and library. Myers also offers afterschool enrichment classes and special extracurricular programs such as a the School Newspaper, Lunchtime Football League, Philadelphia Young Playwrights, Problem Solving and Reading Olympics. Parents and guardians are instrumental in enhancing the educational program and play a large supporting role in the success of the school and each student in it.
