Elkins Park School

     About Elkins Park School

Elkins Park School, located at 8149 New Second Street, sits on a 10-acre campus. Staff members focus on building relationships through positive interactions. A team approach is used to create a small community within the larger school. The school’s unique 5/6 grade structure allows for student involvement in many school-wide, age appropriate activities, such as Intergenerational Day, lunch recess tournaments, swap meets and Color Day. Many of the opportunities for students are experiences beyond school walls as well. Students visit local museums and see theatrical and musical performances. Fifth graders, parents and teachers spend the night at the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia. Sixth graders participate in a 3-day, 2-night camping trip to the Pocono Environmental Education Center, where students apply the standards-based science information about the environment and ecology that they have learned in their two years at Elkins Park.
